Botworld Odyssey

You're going to have to take this review with a grain of salt, as I didn't finish it [condemnation and chaos ensues, trolls fill the forums and the world implodes].

But of the 4hrs or so I did play I got a good grasp of what to expect so without further fuss let us begin.

The battle system and game loop in its entirety is incredibly satisfying and entertaining but exploring the world not so much despite it being quite pleasing to the eye. This game is almost pokemon esque you capture mechanical creatures and battle bandits, bosses, trainers and wild bots. It's exploration feels incredibly aimless and repetitive and all quests feel very fetchy. The UI takes a fair bit to get used to as it all looks a bit samey and just hopes you will intuit your way around it, which I eventually did get familiar with. It being a mobile port means some of the UX and UI are not the most intuitive. But all this said the game is very big, ambitious for such a small team of developers and despite being so much: fun, colourful, and very interesting in all it has going on there isn't really much substance here, so I've uninstalled. This game came at a time in my life where I am looking for games that give more than they take and this game I felt wasn't one. However if you love auto-battlers and open world creature collectors I would easily recommend this game to you, gl hf!
